WHO WE ARE

HKI is a small, family-owned business, founded in 2024 with the goal of reducing the number of vehicles destined for the landfill or scrapyard. By fixing older vehicles, HKI strives to keep tons of material from the waste stream. Offices in Portland, Oregon, and Auckland, New Zealand.

In 2024, HKI acquired Kurt Robertson's collection of unique rotary vehicles, and continues to acquire classic cars for restoration and sale in the United States and New Zealand/Australia. HKI works closely with Kurt Robertson Mazda to offer all manner of engine services.

Kurt has close to 50 years in the game!

About Kurt

Kurt's passion has always been the rotary vehicles, despite the inability of the general public to embrace their concept or see their value.

Since 1983, Kurt has driven, bought, collected, disassembled and inventoried over 300 rotary vehicles, including R100s, RX-2s, RX-3s, RX-4s, REPU trucks/utes, RX-5 Cosmos, and dozens of RX-7s and RX-8s. These cars have become modern classics and are rightfully finding their way into the hands of owners that are looking to invest, restore and improve the performance of these unique vehicles (that's you!).
